My wife and I hiked this trail in late October. Very beautiful time of year to hike the trail withe the fall foilage. I would allow 5 hours or so at a pleasant pace. Lots of wonderful views.

I have backpacked this trail many times. A great camping spot in the fall, spring, and summer. Great views off the trail. May see bears if you are lucky. Some nice bouldering possibilities are off the trail as well.

I hiked this trail 7/10/2004 with two other adults and my black lab. It is a very well maintained trail. One of my favorite sections of this trail is where the Gahuti Backcountry Trail joins with the Big Rock Nature Trail. There are some small waterfalls in this section. We enjoyed the continuious up and down climbs throughout the hike. I suggest you begin this hike early in the morning when it is cooler.
