Hiked 3 Dec 2005, Very nice, very beautiful, mostly easy, short hike. A good hike to build up the confidence of folks who are new to hiking, yet want a little challenge at high altitude. Only drawbacks being December it was very cold, but there was no snow yet this year, and the long drive from my home in Tucson (300 mile round trip). A good hike before undertaking the more strenuous hikes in the Pinaleno Mtns. Best bet for long distance travelers would be to camp in one of the beautiful campgrounds such as Shannon, and experience several hikes on the same visit.
