Summary: This hike is not recommended for those not in shape and are not good with map and compass. This hikes started out on the Pine Hill West Branch trail (Biscuit Brook). I followed the Biscuit Brook trail all the way to the property line just before Big Indian Mt. Then I took a bearing to Doubletop. Once on Doubletop I found a herd path that I took right to the summit. After signing in the Canister I took a bearing to Graham Mt. This was the toughest stretch due to the thick spruce cover and ledges above 3500ft. Once lower down I encountered steep wet slopes and thick beech tree cover. Eventually I made it to the summit of Graham and its old weather station. I then headed back to Doubletop were I decided to follow the herd path to its end on Doubletops southern ridge. Then I took a bearing towards Biscuit Brook. Another tough stretch due to the steep ravines. Eventually I made it through and back on the rd to the PA. The fall colors are starting to show.
Trailhead: From Port Jervis NY take rt. 97 North. Then make a right on rt. 42. Take towards Monticelo. You will be on rt. 42 for about an Hour. Then you will come to town of Grahamsville. Make a left onto rt. 55. Take a few miles and make a right onto 157. There will be a sign for Frost Valley. Take 157, eventually it will turn into rt. 47. You will then past Frost Valley. just past Frost Valley you will come to Biscuit Brook Parking lot on right. This is start point. (Lat:41.99286 Lon:-74.48201)

I finished my quest for 3500 club membership on Doubletop so it HAS to be special. I must admit that it is also one of my favorite trailess hikes, regardless, since the forests were beautiful and it is one of the few trailess peaks with substantial views. The hardwoods grow almost to the top on this side so you don't have to "bodycrash" like you do while climbing Friday, for example. I hiked in on the state trail from Seager and then proceeded up the north ridge. I climbed Graham after following the state trail that comes in from the north. I then ascended via the old woods road that leads east to the top. This was a mountain that I wouldn't particularly write home about.
