Summary: This is an easy bottom of the canyon fairly flat hike,These clearings were Old Homestead farms. A wide variety of berries that were grown have gone wild in this area which is good in spring, the abundance of water from the creek makes the game flourish here, there have also been reports of the wild ferrel hog in this canyon but have yet to see one. I have rode horses all throughout this area. There are many caves and side trails all along this bottom lands, the road use to be a main trail to Eureka Springs but was moved over to where Hwy. P now Hwy. 86 is. Trailhead: From Cassville Mo.,take Hwy. 76-86-112 southerly to the junction of 112-76-86,take 76-86 east to Forest road 1171 just past the Mark Twain National Forest Sign on the right, follow south to trailhead.
