I had been to the Marina area before and we love that nice little walk and the views (water was low this time); there is a sense of peacefulness there. We had not been to the Overlook before and I was impressed actually, as the view from the very top is beautiful and far-reaching and might even rival other vistas.

I grew up in Northumberland,Sunbury. Shikellamy Overlook is a beautiful view of both Areas; as well a great view of the Susquehanna River, from the east and west branches meet. IF you were to be on Front Street Sunbury, right over the river wall near the Celotex plant facing the river, (there is a little wooden platform for this view of the profile, it sits right off the road, next to the river wall) and the overlook, you can see the Profile of Chief Shikellamy. Also can be seen from The Marina, (also a nice little walking park), the Island between Sunbury/North'd. There is a path from the bottom of the Shikellamy Overlook, will go all the way up to the top. Enjoy your day trip.
