A beautiful hike in spring and early summer. Still nice later in the summer, but carry a long stick to break through spider webs across the trail in front of you as you go. There's a small cave, big enough for two people, on the left side of one of the large rock outcroppings along the trail. I've been on the trail after 3 PM before. Never knew it closed at any time. As for eagles, they spend the winter here in southwest Missouri and go back north for the summer.

I would like to clarify this. The Eagles come back every spring. They are here every year,I have seen then on numerous outings. I have even had them right here on my farm.

don't expect to see eagles. There haven't been eagles in the area for years.
