Summary: An excellent hike with almost 1/2 of the hike above 4000 feet and exposed. Fantastic scenery and steep trails. People die here in the winter and caution is advised in all seasons.. Please bring the necessary gear including full winter gear, gps, compass and anything else you might need to survie extreme weather, ice and snow. Trailhead: Park at the Lafayette Place parking area. Trailhead is on east side of road and is well marked.
