Moriah, Carter Moriah to Stony Brook

Highlights:

Excellent views of Madison and into the great gulf
Near:Gorham, NH
Scenery:
Distance:9 miles
Elevation Gain:3400 ft
Hike Time:5.5 hours
Difficulty:Moderate
Trail Condition:OK, but a few difficult spots
HikeType:Point to Point

Summary: A series of ascending hills leads to the final push on Moriah. There are several excellent views to the North, West and South on this hike. The series of hills can be 'breathtaking' in several ways! :-)

We did this with a slippery icy snow pack and it was more difficult than it would be in dryer weather. I suspect the stream crossings can be tricky in high water.

Trailhead: From US Route 2 in Gorham go east across the river and take a sharp right. Follow that street to the end and park on the left. (Lat:44.38216 Lon:-71.16972)
