Summary: Actually, you can start the loop from any point on the lake. I started at the upper end of the lake at the US Forest Service Park Entrance. Follow the road into the park. At the end of the park there will be a sidewalk going into the trees. The sidewalk soon turns into a dirt path. Follow the dirt path around the lake. Eventually return you to the road where you may return to the park entrance. If you dare, there IS a trail bypassing the road. It was swampy, so I passed it by for the road. Trailhead: From Silver City follow Hwy 15 north 25 miles to Hwy 35. From the junction of Hwy 15 and 35, take 35 east about 5 miles to the US Forest Service park on the right. The trailhead as I walked it started at the entrance to the park.
