Summary: This out and back hike heads uphill at the beginning past several cabins. It's easy to follow the white blazes. There are some flat rocks after a mile or so where you can sit and enjoy a snack and some water. The turnaround point is at the bridge crossing Tom's Run. The stream is nice and is a great place to soak your feet if you're hiking during the summer. Just before you reach the stream you'll see another trail (blue blazes) going off to the left. That will take you to the Sunset Rocks Overlook at the top of the ridge. Trailhead: The hike originates in Pine Grove Furnace State Park. To get to the park take Exit 37 off I-81 and follow PA 233 south for about eight miles. Park near the iron furnace stack. Follow the access road past the Youth Hostel to reach PA 233 again. Head South along PA 233 for 1/10th of a mile and you'll see the trail (the white blazes of the AT) on the right going up a driveway past some cabins.
