Summary: From the south-side orange gate you start an uphill hike the 600 or Patterson Road (which is a gravel road). You will top out at a junction between the 600 and 810 road (you'll see a survery marker on your right), go right the 810 road with ends at the Alpha (single track) Trail. Follow the trail down to where it picke up the 810 road again. From the 810, merge right onto the 800 road which ends at Sulfer Springs Road. Take a right and start your final climb up the hill back to summit parking lot. A long this way you'll see old growth and new growth, with views of the valleys and hills. It is a good up and down workout.
Trailhead: From Corvallis take Hwy 99 W north about 3 miles to the stop light at Lewisburg Blvd. Take a left at the light and follow Lewisburg until you take a gradual right onto Sulfer Springs Road. Follow the road to the top or the Lewisburg Summit. On your left or the south side of the road is an orange gate, this is your starting point. In the winter and spring, the Alpha Trail will be muddy.
