Summary: This is very nice hike for the seasoned hiker. Those who have never hiked much in the past will have a harder time on this trail. Most of the path is very nice and wide, making it very easy to travel with a partner. The trail runs through the forest and gives the hiker a great view of different types of trees and even some shrubs, but there are no overlooks that provide a great view of the area. Once you have hiked for about a mile you will cross over a small creek and the path will fork. At the intersection go right. When you come to another intersection take another right, you will walk over a vehicle barrier. If ever in doubt, stay right. Not long while you are on this path the trail starts to disappear, but you can hear the falls. This is where the trail leaves you on your own to find the falls. I recommend the use of a GPS unit so that if you get turned around, you can find your way back to the path.
Trailhead: From Clemson, SC you will take Highway 123 towards Seneca. You will then take Highway 28 to Walhalla, which will take you straight through Walhalla. You will stay on 28 until after about 8 miles you will come to the junction of 107. Here you will take the road the goes off to the right. Stay on this road for about 13 miles until you have passed the fish hatchery. Once you have passed that on your right, you will turn off on the first gravel road. Pay close attention because I passed it my first two times. There is a small trail sign that says 702, this is where you want to be. (Lat:34.98387 Lon:-83.06183)
