it is a local hike and on a side note this area used to me much better before the overpass, the 2 communites, et cetera moved in- also i believe the hike, round trip is less than a mile and not the 1.8 stated- it takes no more than 20 minutes to hike roundtrip and the trail on the steep side has eroded and become precarious to older persons

Definitely not a hike. Very disappointing, since the falls is polluted. It's really just a stroll under street overpasses.

This is just an "OK" stroll through Newport neighborhoods. However, a better nearby hike might be the Turtle Rock-Concordia hike that follows the ridges through those areas of Irvine, and offers excellent views of Bonita, Shady, and Bommer Canyons, the San Joaquin Marsh, along with city views of central Orange Cty and the Santa Ana Mtns., as well as great sunset views of Santa Catalina Island. Park in Turtle Rock neighborhoods near Bonita Canyon School for access.

Trail is too overgrown.

There wasn't much to see here. I suppose if you live close by, it's an okay after-meal stroll. Otherwise, it's too close to the houses. Also, it's much too short to be called a hike.
