Distance:5.2 miles round trip
Elevation Gain:940 ft

Summary: Boulder Creek Falls is the best waterfall in the Whiskeytown National Recreation Area. It is very impressive, dropping in 3 separate cascades of about 20 ft., 40 ft., and 80 ft.

The trail up to the waterfall is a moderate climb, up hill all the way. It involves 3 crossings of Boulder Creek. Later in the year, it may be possible to rock hop across it, but in the spring you will have to wade across. It is a fun experience. All 3 crossings are within a 15 minute walk of each other.

For more info, see my website.

Trailhead: From Hwy 299 (2 miles west of Oak Bottom), turn left on Carr Powerhouse Rd. Drive 1.7 miles and turn left onto dirt South Shore Drive. Drive 2.4 miles to the signed trailhead for Boulder Creek. (Lat:40.64162 Lon:-122.59682)
