My 14yr old son and I did this hike 7-31-09 and really enjoyed ourselves- for Oklahomans we did pretty good we only had to rest a couple of times and the end result is awesome- Our goal is to to Longs next year!! We will do this hike again 2010 to get ready for Longs...

I did this hike with my 20lb daughter on my back and had no problems. The waterfall by the lake is nice and you really get an up close view of Longs Peak. We found a shelter under some rocks when it started to rain and had lunch there. It was great. I will be taking friends and family here when they come visit!

nine easy miles (if you are in good shape), 72 degrees and a deep blue sky, no clouds on this day. Took a swim in the frigid water and watched the climbers on the east face of Longs Peak (14,255 Ft). My second favorite hike. 08/11/07

Great hike! The trail was easy to follow with a moderate incline that challenged some of us "Flat Landers". We had to traverse a couple snow field and dodge falling ice, but reached our destination. The view was spectacular as we rested and admired the breath-taking beauty of Long's Peak.
