Summary: This is a very easy walk in the plains by the foothills of Colorado. Take the main path out to the turn around point and then walk the narrower trail back. On the way out you can view the mountains in their glory. Trailhead: Go to Louisville. From S. Boulder Rd, turn south on McCaslin Blvd. Travel about 0.6 mi and then turn west by Washington Ave into the parking area. It's excellent for dogs, since there is a fenced in dog park at the start of the hike. early evening today walking west from McCaslin, Flatirons seemed two dimensional until sky turned a pink on blue mosaic that I had never witnessed before even the back range lit up prairie dogs skittering hawks screeching very nice Notice: Traveling in the backcountry can be hazardous.
