Summary: From I-24 Exit 4 go south on hwy 79 about 4 miles. Turn left on Dunbar Cave Rd. go 1.1 miles the park is on your left. Great place to see wildlife: deep, turkey, fox, squirell, muskrat, turtles, and all kinds of birds, from swans to woodpeckers. You can also tour the cave with a ranger. Trailhead: Trail head is located at the top of the parking lot. Signs are Posted. Will plan ahead next time, in order to tour Dunbar Cave. Marrero,Louisiana Hiked the recovery Trail 1.7 miles. Trail is not very wide in some sections and some sections are washed out a little but it looks from the piles of mulch at some sections they plan on fixing it soon. Trail goes up and down a couple inclines and wanders through the wood. Very nice family trail. Notice: Traveling in the backcountry can be hazardous.
