Summary: This a great little workout, a bit much for the toddlers but okay for the pre teen crowd. The hike starts uphill and stays that way for a good while. There are some flat stretches mixed in abd a couple stream crossings. Being this short the hike reaches the falls before your to tired to enjoy the falls and they are beautiful. You can cross at the base of the falls and hike up the trail on the other side for a great pinic spot. The water was high on this date and we decided to climb up the cables to the upper part of the falls, look for larkspur on the river banks, they were blooming on New Years eve when we went. A great workout with an awesome payoff. Enjoy, See you on the trail
Trailhead: If you come from Greenville S.C. head north on Hwy 276 past Hwy 11 intersection and continue to River Falls Rd. on your right. Head towards Jones Gap SP and turn right on Duckworth Rd. continue to Fall Creek Rd. Take a right and proceed past the Bible camp and over a little bridge. The trailhead is clearly visible ahead on the left. (Lat:35.07 Lon:-82.31)

PURE WHOLESOME AWESOMENESS! Hike was quite the workout! Steep incline will have you sweating! Bring LOTS of water! But oh how it was worth every step. Very rewarding! Would love to do again when I am in the area again.

This one is AWESOME! For sure a bit strenuous. I did this one with my 56 yr old dad and my husband. When you get to top of the purple marked trail there is a surprise waiting for you that is worth every bead of sweat you will perspire. Take an extra battery for the camera... mine died on me at the top. I will return for more pics and fun though! An excellent short hike. The feeling at completion is fantastic :)

Have hiked this several times. The last time I did it I continued on the Hospital Rock trail to Jones Gap and followed the road back to my car. 9.5 mile loop. did it in under 7 hrs with a few stops. the last of the hospital rock trail down the mountain into Jones gap was rougher than i remeber and there is a tree that blocks the trail on the descent that tough to traverse. great hike!

1.2 miles to the falls is well worth the climb. After seeing it once, I had to take my wife, daughter, and grandson to see the falls. At almost 59 years old, I had no trouble making it with the backpack on my back and my 20 pound grandson on my front! A little workout, but the falls are beautiful and worth it. There's even a flat rock in the creek where you can lay down at the base of the falls and enjoy the mist and sounds. Nice short hike!

The upward incline was a little tough but well worth it. I even crossed over the creek and hiked further through a magnolia forest.

Hike described well. Steep at beginning and end. Falls were awesome. Couldn't get to the upper level due to a large yellow jacket nest under some rocks at the trail.
