Summary: This is a nice hike close to Winston-Salem. It has a nice rural feel to it after you get started. The trails include a couple of different loop options. It is a relatively easy hike with a few ups and downs along the way. The hike offers a wide variety of scenery (Piedmont woodlands and streams, mowed fields, old cemetery). This is a good trail if you're wanting to get away from town for a little while. Trailhead: From I-40 take HWY 52 North (at Winston-Salem) to HWY 8. Follow HWY 8 4.2 miles and turn right on Memorial Industrial School Drive (SR-1920) The trailhead will be at 1.1 miles on the right. Great to bring your dog off leash, rarely anyone on these trails. Not too many people, great hike. Trails are narrow though. Notice: Traveling in the backcountry can be hazardous.
