Summary: The park has a trail system that is actually a series of trails that meander throughout the park. All sections are well maintained and elevation changes are gradual. I took the perimeter trail that skirts the outer edges of the park. This section has both woodland sections as well as areas of well, maintained fields. You don’t have to go far before you encounter many of the different sculptures. In the sections that lead into the wooded portion you’ll encounter some older growth trees as well as an old resort section known as Orchard Valley where the ruins of an old pool and buildings can be found. The pool was built to take advantage of the landscape, and it’s quite enjoyable to poke around the grounds. The open areas take advantage of the space and the larger sculptures are displayed there. These areas make a great place for a picnic. Take time to discover what the park has to offer and enjoy yourself.
Trailhead: Laumeier Park is located around the southeast corner of the intersection of Interstates 44 and 270. The main entrance to the park is located off of Rott Rd. just south of the intersection of Rott Rd. and Watson Rd. (Route 366). (Lat:38.54989 Lon:-90.41454)

With three young children, we needed a hike that could accomodate a jogging stroller. This was perfect! The kids ran an extra few miles just exploring the grassy areas filled with sculptures. The wooded trail was smooth and wide which made for an enjoyable walk with the stroller. My older son and I were able to get off the main trail and explore the creek bottom in the woodland area. We finished with a picnic back near the main entrance. Very enjoyable family outing.
