Summary: This is a great moderate hike, that captures great desert landscape and rugged mountain views. From the trail head, hike east up the obvious path towards Pusch Peak. The trail will lead you up and along a small canyon,l which will be on your left. This hike ends once you are at the base of a 250-300 foot peak. There is a small trail that will lead you to the top of this peak, if your ready for the up hill push! It makes for a great city view.

You will notice a few side trails along the way, however if you stay on the east to west trail, you will be right on.

Trailhead: Heading North on Oracle Rd make a right(east) turn onto Linda Vista Dr. (Linda Vista Dr. is between Calle Concordia and 1st ave) Continue to drive east on Linda Vista for 50 yards and the trailhead parking lot is on your right. The parking lot is big enough for 6 cars. Ther is no fee! (Lat:32.38078 Lon:-110.96136)

Hiked this trail on August 9, 2009. I WILL do it again, but go the reverse. It really is NOT a bad trail at all. Not as long as what I expected. Finished easily, and wasn't tired at all. Here is a link to copy and view part 1 of my trek. There are more in interested! http://www.sparkpeople.com/mypage_public_journal_individual.asp?blog_id=2300945

My husband and I just started hiking. If you want a workout this is the trail for you, definitely a leg burner. Beautiful views. Horses do use the trail and leave a trail but its easily avoided.

I don't know how I didn't know this trail was here, this is a great trail for a nice quick hike (made it past the metal sign, and almost to the top of the vista in about 45 minutes). The trail does get nice and steep at parts past the metal sign, and it's not as wide, but still not bad at all. I'll hike it again!

On 11/16/08 I hiked this trail as it is drawn on the map, except I only got up to 3850 (trail intersection) instead of 4000 feet (crossover). I'm 55 and it took me 1.5 hours up and 1 hour down. Wear gloves and good boots. Go uphill at the small metal sign. The trail is quite steep but scenic and there were lots of other hikers on a Saturday. I can't wait to try it again the next time I'm in Tucson.

I enjoyed this hike, but there were a few times that I wasn't sure I was going the right way and got off the trail. Pretty good exercise though, and great views.

A Good Hike. Short but very steep and well worth it. 360 degree views are hard to find on trails this short but this trail succeeds. Can be a fairly slow moving climb but once again the view makes it worth it. Note: At cairn about 1 mile into hike (you can go straight into the canyon or go right and up to a vista) go straight to find most direct route.
