Summary: The Laurel Bluff/Reedy Fork Loop trail is actually made up of two trails. The proposed trail head located at the Greensboro Water works is the western most trail head for the Laurel Bluff trail. You will follow this trail 3.2 miles to the eastern trail head. Then follow the road to the left (north) crossing the bridge, turn left on Plainfield Road and continue until you reach the eastern trail head for Reedy Fork trail (another .8 miles). From here you have another 3.2 miles to reach the western trail head of Reedy Fork & by following the road to the left over the Lake Brandt spill way, to the original starting point. Laurel Bluff is closed to bikes but Reedy Fork is open to bikes. Both are open to pets on leashes. Be aware that during periods of high rain or water release from the dam, areas of both trails can be flooded. If you are quiet and lucky you will have the chance to see a multitude of wildlife from birds, reptiles, small mammals to even white tail deer.
Trailhead: The trail head can be found at 36 10.184 N, 79 50.200W. This is the trail head to the Laurel Bluffs Trail and it is located on the south side of the Greensboro Waterworks. It is just off the road and very visible. Seems to be a very save place to park your vehicle. (Lat:36.17 Lon:-79.837)
