Summary: This is a cool hike to the Econ River. You'll see lush Florida forests and maybe some wildlife. A passing biker said he saw a buck. Trailhead: Go to Snow Hill Road then down Jacobs. There is a small parking lot. Reviewed by Shawn on 7/26/2004 Use to hike/run out there a lot a few years back. Beautiful area and lots of wildlife. Actually saw a flying squirrel out here once which I have never seen before or since. Use to be a spot where I would always see a big 8ft female gator. Not sure if she is still out there, but if you see baby gators then don't go down to the water's edge to check them out like some boneheads... for yours & the gator's sake. Especially when the water is murky, you wouldn't know there is a big gator sitting in the water in front of you until she jumps out & is sitting your lap. Unfortunatley, I have seen people doing this in the past.
