While I love to hike on the nearby Hoeferlin Memorial Trail(yellow) regurally, this was my first opportunity to hike this loop. What sets the Wanaque Ridge Trail apart from most other trails in the Ramapo Mountains are the numerous panoramic vistas over-looking the Wanaque Reservoir. If your looking for a non-strenuous hike with terrific views, consider this loop. Recommended gear in the colder months would be stableicers and boot-gaiters. Nice hike, especially this time of year when you may not have enough daylight for anything too long. Trail overall is a very easy hike, and is very well marked. Like the summary says, this is an easy trail with only a few rocky spots. Notice: Traveling in the backcountry can be hazardous.
