Summary: A pleasant, shorter verison of the Wawayanda Jungle hike also listed on this site. A great place for cross country skiing in season. Take Cherry Ridge Rd west from the parking area. Its an unpaved woods road here. After about a half mile make a right onto the Red Dot trail (actually blazed by red squares). The trail is flat, but passes some interesting terrain , a beaver pond then crosses a stone bridge and eventually reaches Double Pond Rd, a dirt park rd. There is an interesting swamp at this junction and a boardwalk makes a good spot to stop for lunch. Continue southeast on the yellow blazed Double Pond trail and after a short distance make a right onto the blue blazed Cedar Swamp Trail. This trail goes through a swamp on boards then through interesting rhododendron tunnels, eventually reaching the yellow blazed Banker Trail. Make a right here and take it back to your car. Trailhead: Route 23 to Clinton Rd north. Travel for several miles on Clinton Rd. Just past Lake Lookover on left look for Cherry Ridge Rd. Make sharp left. Follow Cherry Ridge Rd. It becomes a dirt road. Parking is at a junction with another dirt rd.
