Summary: This is more of a short nature walk than a hike, making it a good walk for families with young children. From the parking lot catch the red blazed trailhead just beyond the kiosk. A short walk brings you to the blue trail, turn left and follow the blue blazed trail to its end. Continue on the white blazed trail. You'll follow a stone wall , then climb gently and pass a large balanced boulder on your left. Shortly after you pass a bench, turn left onto the red blazed trail which will bring you back to the parking lot. At the end of the trail are some old farm outbuildings and equipment that are an interesting diversion. The main building is the headquarters of the Morris Land Conservancy. Trailhead: 287 to Wooton St exit. Left off ramp, go under highway and up hill. Make right at flashing light onto Boonton Ave (CR 511). Follow Boonton Ave to 19 Boonton Ave. The entrance to this park is not very obvious. Look for a driveway for next to wooden sign that says "Montville - Heirwarter Estates - 19 Boonton Ave" Facing the sign there are driveways to the left and right of it. The correct entrance is just to the left (North) of it. Parking lot is at end of the driveway.
